2nd line Support Engineer


This role will form part of a growing technology department where you'll have the opportunity to progress and work on lots of varied projects and tasks. Our ideal person will be an experienced Support Technician from a Managed Service Provider background. You will assist in developing the support team’s technical knowledge and be able to communicate clearly and regularly with both the customer and the account manager on progress made on issues raised. A passion for IT and providing outstanding customer service is essential.

The 2nd Line Engineer position provides exposure to a broad range of IT related projects and activities. As part of the team you will also have the opportunity to help improve the firms systems, procedures and knowledge base by contributing and collaborating.

Essential Experience:

  • Active Directory & Group Policy maintenance
  • Windows 7/10 desktop
  • MFP experience
  • Office 365
  • Office 365 product knowledge
  • Citrix knowledge
  • Good communicator with the ability to articulate IT issues to non-IT people
  • Worked within an ITIL environment (Preferably an MSP)
  • COMPTIA A+ & N+ or equivalent preferable
  • Have a high level of motivation and enthusiasm and Customer service driven mentality

Key Activities:

  • Working to defined SLA’s within a service desk environment,
  • Being the “Face” of IT in our head office in Chadderton.
  • Assist with the design, implementation and documentation of infrastructure solutions
  • Escalate and manage incidents and requests to vendors in a timely fashion.
  • Management and documentation of information relating to incidents, service requests, change and problem, and the effective communication of progress of such events to all stakeholders in line with internal process.
  • Collaborate with all business units to bring about timely resolution of technical issues.
