The Head of Enterprise Architecture is responsible for the development and ongoing leadership of the Enterprise Architecture that integrates project and programme strategies across the enterprise, and ensures alignment with business strategies and drivers, IT strategy and management priorities. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Assessment of The VPS Group’s technology architecture to refine and rationalise, set the standard for future technology and support alignment between business and IT strategies, the output of which will be an Enterprise Architecture map.
  • Definition, oversight, implementation and management of the enterprise-wide technology architecture
  • Development of Cloud strategy and supporting delivery roadmap.
  • Ensure the Group IT services are resilient, protected and fit for purpose
  • Identify and monitor industry trends / threats including their relevance to the technology and real estate sector
  • Architectural design, consultancy and decisions for complex development projects
  • Architectural governance once strategic architecture defined and agreed with IT leaders and senior business leaders.
  • Synergies and rationalization of the estate within the budget appetite of the group.
  • Strong and collaborative relationships with Business Leads and IT peers, serving as an advisor to senior business leaders on business and information integration strategies and utilization of technology
  • Engagement with bids and tenders in partnership with business leaders to support IT design and commitment/ability to deliver

Key Outputs

  • Enterprise Architecture roadmap and strategy, mapped to business strategy
  • Be respected as an expert and strategic advisor
  • Open dialogue with IT peers on setting and enforcing architectural standards/estate
  • Strong and collaborative relationships with Business Leads to understand business activities and drivers, requirements and ensure technology solutions strategy is the right one
  • Architecture strategy and roadmap to rationalize the estate, ensure resilience and security
  • Cloud strategy and roadmap

Experience

  • Degree (Preferred)
  • Relevant industry & sector experience – applications, platforms, systems, infrastructure, B2B, B2C
  • Proven track record in the architecture field
  • Proven track record in Cloud technologies and transition of legacy estate to Cloud – where it is right to do so.
  • Experience of managing and working with IT suppliers
  • Enterprise strategy business acumen
  • IT Operational experience across medium to large scale complex organisations
  • Resource and team management
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation

Knowledge and Skills

  • Broad & deep knowledge of IT domains,
  • Influencing, translating and mapping business strategy into technology strategy
  • Ability to translate technology into business strategy
  • Proven ability in team management, decision-making and communication
  • Problem-solving, analytical and influencing skills
  • Managing suppliers, implementing service improvements and managing risks and issues

The role will require travel between Norwich and Manchester.
