Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Customer Engagement, the Sales Support Executive plays a pivotal role in accelerating Evander’s growth agenda. The key focus of the role is ensuring that all sales and bid activity is effectively managed and presented to a high professional standard, in order to retain existing clients and win new business.

The post-holder manages external bid platforms and proactively identifies sector specific bid opportunities for consideration. Working collaboratively across all areas of the business, the post-holder will complete pre-qualification questionnaires and bids on behalf of Evander, working closely with the Head of Customer Engagement, Sales Director and wider sales team on larger, more complex opportunities.

The Sales Support Executive is also responsible for co-ordinating pre and post bid activity, to support continuous improvement and maximise win rates. This includes bid programme management, analysing bid outcomes, identifying ‘win themes’, and providing comprehensive, insightful feedback to the wider team on development areas, risk, and opportunity, and how they may be addressed. The post holder will also be responsible for cataloguing and developing the bid library, facilitating pipeline and opportunity reporting and customer relationship management activity.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

  • Maintain registrations to all relevant procurement and prospect portals.
  • Enable and provoke sales activity through targeted research and in the moment insight.
  • Identify and log sector specific opportunities for consideration, sharing with internal decision makers.
  • Complete and submit pre-qualification questionnaires and bids, collaborating with the Sales team on larger and more complex opportunities.
  • Manage Opportunity Register to ensure timely submission and recording of outcomes.
  • Internal bid programme management, organising pre and post meetings and recording meeting outcomes.
  • Create, collate, and proactively maintain company information within the bid library to ensure content is accurate, up to date and demonstrates contemporary business processes and initiatives to maximise success rates.
  • Collaborate and engage with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts as required, editing technical and department specific content to ensure consistency in tone and brand.
  • Produce professionally written proposals and pitch content that effectively articulate Evander’s value proposition and identified win themes.
  • Analyse bid outcomes to understand win themes and identify areas of improvement.
  • Support the development of internal and external communications and sales collateral and other projects

  • Excellent attention to detail and high proficiency in proof-reading.
  • Knowledgeable user of MS365 packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint, with the ability to produce reports, letters and bid documents to a high professional standard.
  • Commercially aware with a general understanding of core business principles including profitability, gross margin, rebate structures and budget allocations (or willingness to learn and develop knowledge in this area)
  • Ability to use software packages to create graphics for use in professional presentations – Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience working on bids and tender processes – Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of using and managing Client Relationship Management systems – Desirable
