Role Purpose

This is an important role for delivery of Noise Insulation Schemes which fall under the Sustainable Business Unit. You will be responsible for managing goods which have been ordered by head office, to ensure that arrive on time, are checked and prepared ready for collection for installers arriving into the depot. You will manage stock levels of consumables, other stocked items whilst ensuring that business delivery is not impacted and all within a cost budget. You will work closely with our suppliers and head office and have good clear communication and problem-solving skills to prevent delays to installation schedules. Alongside this you will provide support to the fitting teams on a reactive basis, by helping products reach the installation sites.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

  • Ensure incoming product is received and managed appropriately and in accordance with Company procedure; maintaining appropriate control systems, to include asset control logs to account for all stock received and dealing with any discrepancies in the order provision to include reconciliation of delivery notes.
  • Monitor compliance by suppliers with agreed service standards and ensure that all goods have been inspected at delivery stage for quality, quantity, dimensions and specification.
  • Ensure that all goods / materials are ready for allocation to Engineers / Operatives in a timely manner.
  • Manage a central store of stock items and provide reporting and key information in order to facilitate the efficient running of the stock operation to include tracking and reporting daily wastage.
  • Liaise with Suppliers / Central Pricing & Ordering to help ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any disparities in ordering process.
  • Liaise with other locations / Procurement to inform them of the stock inventory and to release stock in line with agreed control process ensuring the accurate recording of all stock transfers.
  • Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials in accordance with Company to maximize availability of working capital.
  • Responsible for the setting up and operation of the glass cutting machine where applicable in accordance with appropriate specifications and Health and Safety best practices.
  • Engage with peers across the network in order to share best practice.
  • Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks on a daily / weekly / monthly basis and as required’.
  • Ensure that stock control is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
  • Ensure the provision and implementation of Health and Safety policy within the stock areas and ensure that safe systems of work are carried out to insure Health and Safety hazards are managed appropriately on a day to day basis.
  • Ensure that all security procedures are carried out correctly to achieve compliance with security policies and standards defined in the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and results of reviews and corrective actions carried out should be recorded and available for review in compliance with ISO27001.
  • Manage the return of faulty Alarms & Components to the dedicated repair centre.
  • Carry out minor repairs to Alarms, Screens and Doors, including painting of screens and doors.
  • Changing & Charging of batteries for alarms.
  • Testing of equipment to ensure effective when installed.
  • Control of local waste and operatives tipping documentation.
  • Maintain standards of Health & Safety and security in the branch.

Experience and Personal Attributes

• Prior experience as Stock Controller / Store Person in a similar role.

• Experience and /or knowledge of stock management.

• Experience in either Window, Door and Glazing sector.

• Able to work effectively with computerised systems.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• This position requires the handling / moving large quantities of stock and lifting without assistance.

• Strong organisational ability.

• Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.

• Full UK Driving License.

• Fork Lift License, desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
